We will be watching and analyzing TV news stories, usually CNN, in class. The stories are usually between 2 & 3 minutes long. A few questions pertaining to that day’s topic will be asked by the instructor to start off the class. After watching the video as many times as necessary to answer all of the questions. There are usually 12 questions to a story, so we will be answering 3 at a time (e.g.-1-3,4-6,7-9,10-12). We will watch the portion of the story containing each set of 3 questions 3 or 4 times. Then each group has up to 5 minutes to compare their answers before the instoructor elicits the correct answers from the entire class. Once all of the questions have been answered, students will be given a transcript of the story to look at as they watch the entire story for the final time. Students will then have group discussions pertaining to that day’s topic for the remainder of the class. Each week will be different topic.　　（講師記）
